This name is a great example of stupid Japanese puns. "Shinkon" here directly translates as "god spirit" but is a play on the word for "newlywed", while the main characters' robots are called "Dannar" and "Nao Okusar" which are plays on the words for "husband" (danna) and "wife" (okusan), respectively. Said characters are, or course, just married and also pilot giant robots to fight off strange creatures attacking Japan. Though the fact that she's only 17 while he's pushing 30 makes it just a teensy bit creepy.

This is a somewhat clunky 3D fighter (understandable, considering the giant robots and all) based on the anime series of the same title. There's only four playable characters, but the focus is on the story mode anyway. There's a few curious things about the way the game works, though: For one, attack power is tied to a rhythmic "biometer", which bobs up and down at regular intervals. Attack when it's low and you'll do almost no damage, but when it's high you'll do a lot more. Second, keeping with the marriage theme, you can team up for 2v1 or 2v2 matches, though anything past the second will always be computer-controlled.

Includes an anime DVD which is basically a digest version of the TV series. Which is itself a little odd considering the game itself tells exactly the same story anyway. Huh.
