Take the Super Robot Taisen formula and mix it with the mech action of FromSoftware's Armored Core, and A.C.E is precisely what you'll get. It plays a bit faster than From's flagship series, and air and space combat are now possibilities, but the DNA is quite clearly there.
This first one is a bit rough around the edges, but it's still perfectly serviceable. If you're a fan of real robot anime like your Gundams and whatnot, this whole series is definitely worth your time.
This first one features more than 40 robots from 9 different franchises, including your usual smattering of Gundams, plus plenty of other well-regarded titles like Nadesico, Layzner, Brain Powered, Dunbine...
Trivia: The two starting machines are the only ones not licensed from any anime. The Gespenst Mark II is an original design from Banpresto's Super Robot Taisen series, while the Cloud Breaker is from FromSoftware's little-known Xbox exclusive Murakumo.
