Now here's an oddity. It seems like there are certain genres of games that just never get made in Japan. One of them is first-person shooters -- examples like Sega's OutTrigger and Nichibutsu's Expert are exceedingly rare. Here's an example of another: the open-world action game. Think of a goofy Japanese Grand Theft Auto where you play as Dirty Harry, and that's what we've got here.

Unfortunately the team at Y'sK -- better(?) known for the Kenka Banchō series -- were quite obviously ill-prepared to tackle such a game. Looking at screenshots, I wouldn't blame you for guessing a 2001 release on the Dreamcast, but no, this was an extremely late release (2009!), and it's just THAT ugly. It was scheduled for a 2007 release by Capcom (!), but it slipped repeatedly, Capcom dropped it, and yet it still managed to hit shelves...

By Japanese internet accounts, it plays better than it looks and has a surprisingly large amount of content, but I haven't had a chance to really dig into this one. Haven't made it past the tutorial section...
